Modern Classics with Twist......-

I became a member of the Temple St Clair cult back in 1992. I could not get enough then, and still today. Described as modern classics with a twist…..just like Temple herself, her jewelry designs are timeless Old World. I promise the collection will never gather dust in your jewelry box. I just added to my collection again, her Angels, featuring a cherub from a painting by the Renaissance artist, Raphael. There is something about her pieces girls, it is a great self purchase. http://www.lbgreen.com/ItemDetail.aspx?id=63054

Artist Eliza Thomas of Austin....Organic, Nature and Timeless

I am fortunate to personally know Eliza, as we are both part of the wonderful extended Thomas family. Through the years I have watched this beautiful young lady blossom into an incredibly talented artist. When I asked her about her work and where her she has gotten her inspirations.....

"Spots of time inspire my work. And, too much, even to explain... it's about providing a distilled moment, paying homage to life, ancestry, the natural world, beauty and emotion..."

Hard to believe that this Black Basalt Tea Service by Wedgwood was first introduced in the 1920's. It is regarded as a design classic. A perfect example of timeless cool......

Great Settings.........Timeless Cool Frances Palmer

As always we are on the hunt for the perfect dinner plate, for the perfect meal….. We find a hidden gem in our own backyard. I always love these trips to meet new artists and view their work. It is refreshing, energizing and keeps our creative juices flowing. As our team pulled up to the gracious colonial compete with a fabulous barn, that we later learned the barn was a 1790 house that had been reassembled on site, all set on beautiful snow covered grounds, we sensed from its style that an artist lived within. Voila, out of the house emerges Frances Palmer, a potter, a stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur in CT. As we toured her studio the sea of creamy whites and taupe’s with splashes of black, called out to be touched and held. Some of the pieces were hand thrown and one of a kind , shown amongst pieces from the Frances Palmer Pearl Collection which are cast from hand made molds by century old Buffalo Pottery Company. It screamed dinner party, family, friends and great food. As we ooohed and ahhhhed, soft spoken Frances announces that she had been preparing pizza dough and would we join her for lunch. Our excitement for the pottery continues to escalate as we are served a lunch of homemade pizza, a different plate at each place setting in this beautiful Civil War era colonial with originals moldings and colors from the palate of an artist. We love it…… experience complete. We all need to own these.

Keeping Track of Time..........Timeless Cool Watches

I never owned a watch till I meet my husband, many moons ago. At that time, he couldn't believe that someone did not wear a watch. I am sure he regrets those words every day. I am now a certified watch fanatic, our whole family has morfed into watch nuts. Who would have thought? New watch to seek, the Rolex Air King with rose stick markers, 34mm in stainless steel, women are still wearing BIG. Very timeless, as all Rolex's are..... and the rose sticks on dial is the added cool.

Timeless not Trendy

Have you ever purchased something, worn it once and then put it away? We all do it, too many times then we would like to remember. When we hit it and have something that we love and wear it to death, I must admit it is a great feeling. As I get older, I challenge myself to find those items, hold off buying frivolously. Well I have hit one big. With all the choices one has, and I am fortunate to have choices, I find myself gravitating day after day to my John Hardy Bamboo silver bangle bracelets. They take on a personality of their own with each outfit that I put together. They have attended black tie events in NYC with me, I have to admit I did add a few thin diamond bangles to make them really sparkle, but day after day I just keep piling them on. I started with a mere 5 and I think that they are now 20 strong. It is the simplicity of them that I love...... Yes bamboo is in at the moment, but it is timeless "in". Everything needs to be timeless not trendy. Bonus, with the purchase of each bracelet John Hardy will plant 3 bamboo seedlings on Nusa Penida Island to fight Global Warming. A win win for me, something I love, fashionable, and helping our environment.
