The High Line Park NYC....So Timeless and Cool

Before I tell you about all the cool things for the table that I have seen over the last few day, I have to share with you this wonderful little piece of NYC that was brought to my attention by a NYC friend (Thanks Chuck). The High Line Park is located  on Manhattan's West Side,  running from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to 34th Street, between 10th and 11 Avenues.

The High Line was originally constructed in 1930 as part of a public/private project call the West Side Improvement.  It lifted dangerous freight cars, 30 feet in the air, removing them off the streets of the city.  No trains had run on the High Line since 1980 and in 1999, when the structure was under threat of demolition, a community-based non-profit group was formed. "Friends of The High Line" worked in partnership with the City of New York to preserve and maintain the historic structure and turned it into an elevated public park.....or Green Art (it truly is a piece of art work).

 Friends of the High Line presents a rotating schedule of temporary artworks in all mediums in and around the High Line for the enjoyment of visitors and neighborhood residents.
