"The Cool Zone"

Richard Ginori @ TASTE LOUNGE

oH ....TO BE AT THE MILAN FURNITURE FAIR!

Richard Ginori @ Taste Lounge is the result of cooperation between Pitti Immagine and Richard Ginori 1735, Italy’s oldest, most important and internationally popular artistic porcelain manufacturers, together with the architect and designer Paola Navone. .

The Visconti Pavilion in Via Tortona 58, "The Cool Zone" during the Salone del Mobile (the Furniture Show), is the perfect location for relaxation during the show. Taste Lounge, a dinning experience – featuring “Il mio piatto preferito” [My favorite dish], offers a journey through a goldmine of unknown Italian foods and wines discovered by Taste, the show created by Davide Paolini. While dinning on this fab food you can flip through a never seen before collection of design-fashion-lifestyle magazines from all over the world. The special setting for Taste Lounge has been conceived by Paola Navone as a stage with the spotlight on Richard Ginori 1735 collections. These include porcelain from the factory, whole, and broken to make pieces of a mosaic or reworked in different ways, for a state-of-the-art makeover of the Ginori identity.

Puiforcat...Old Design, New Material... Timeless

Perfect....Old Design, New material.

First of all I love flatware, and I love artists who were ahead of their time. This newer Puiforcat pattern Guethary was actually designed in 1926 by Jean E Puiforcat and recently redesigned in stainless steel for everyday use. It has been years since I visited the Puiforcat Factory in Paris. This visit cemented my love of the brand, which was already a favorite. I watched a small group of artisans working on a pieces of flatware, each carefully polishing and finishing the pieces with the skills that has been passed through generations of families. Taking days to complete, each piece is a work of art!

Portuguese Water Dog "The New First Pooch"

A few interesting facts about the White House's New First Pooch.... The Portuguese Water Dog, as known as a Portie, is a water spaniel. Portuguese Water Dogs once existed all along Portugal's coast, where they were taught to herd fish into fishermen’s nets. They make excellent companions. They are loving, independent, very intelligent, friendly and social animals. They do no shed, making some say they are hypoallergenic. The modern PWD, loves water, lots of attention and prefers to be engaged activity with humans. This is not a breed that likes to be left alone for long periods, indoors or out.......... I guess Bo is going on vacation this summer with the First Family!

Obama's Summer Vacation?

Secret Service agents have been spotted casing Martha’s Vineyard for what is said to be a late-August two-week getaway. The First Family’s destination is believed to be East Chop, the sleepier side of Oak Bluffs. Obama wouldn’t be the first president to hightail it to the Massachusetts isle for some sun ’n’ fun.
Big question....will they bring the dog???

Pantone Spring 2009 Fashion Colors

....I do read and follow the predicted HOT colors for the seasons (just to see what my black is up against!) If you missed it or already forgot like me, this is what was predicted last fall for Spring 2009.

Here is what the experts said:

“New York’s fashion designers encourage hopeful attitudes
with lively colors, while sophisticated, grounded hues
address the need for stability in times of economic
uncertainty,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director
of the Pantone Color Institute®.
