Daughter to a Greek-Australian mother and German father, Katherine Jetter was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1983. Whilst always remaining Australian at heart, she grew up overseas in England, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, and speaks several languages.
With an early focus on inner creativity, Katherine received the top International Baccalaureate Art Prize for the entire Northern Hemisphere Academic Year in 2001. Her family congratulated her at the time with a small, pretty blue opal, for which she made a simple ring setting. Her inspiration started there, and continued to evolve as she first went on to acquire a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Psychology from University College of London, and then a foundation in finance at JP Morgan.
After working at JP Morgan, however, Katherine was drawn back to her passion of design and fine jewelry. To improve her proficiency she attended the globally renowned and prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and became certified as a Graduate Gemologist and Jewelry Designer. Katherine went on to work for De Beers and other designer jewelers in both Europe and the US. Now based in New York, she has established a successful business designing her own proprietary lines and one of a kind pieces for private clients.
