An Addition to Timeless not Trendy....

I am not a matchy match person, as a matter of fact I loathe it....however I guess there is always an exception to the rule. With my continued love of the John Hardy Bamboo Bangle bracelets, that I wrote about earlier, I continue to wear them most days of the week, I have moved on to the matching rings, yes the matching rings..... Using the manta mixing the familiar with the unexpected, I have taken mixing these little bamboo rings with my everyday eternity bands. They, as the bracelets, take on a different personality with each ring that they are mixed with. Again bamboo is "in" at the moment, but it still continues to be timeless "in". The same bonus applies, with the purchase John Hardy will plant bamboo seedlings on Nusa Penida Island to fight Global Warming. Although a matched set, it's a continuation of something I love, fashionable, and helping our environment.

Interesting People...........Fabrizio Sotti

I was fortunate to have dinner with this individual the other night. We all have a life story but his I found his most fascinating. A gifted musican at a very young age and offered a scholarship to Berklee College of Music at the age of 16. At the school for a mere 3 months he was then approached by Miles Davis to join him on tour.... and the rest is history. Another Great Italian Design.........

Hard to believe that twentieth century guru of Italian design, Gio Ponti designed this beautiful line of flatware in the year 1939. Talk about being ahead of your time. It is available in two finishes, my personal favorite is matt.

What is Life without Music......

or NYC without a visit to my favorite curator of music Felix Cutillo, Bergdorf' Goodman's famous DJ and music buyer. I have one of the most envied music collections in town, he will never steer you wrong. Latest purchase "Sister's lounge 2" great!!! Catch him on 3rd Floor Men's......grab a Gotham Salad at the cafe while there, my favorite haunt for lunch.

I"m back....

I've been on the hunt.....traveling near and far. A must to see, fab new porcelaine from La Table Hermès "Jardin des Orchidèes". The presentation plate is to die for, yet another winner from Hermès.

Lamby LOO

This week I crossed paths with an interesting woman who is involved with importing items from Kenya. Her stories intrigued me and the product I found facinating.
The amazing story of how this venture has enriched the lives of a little village, given women jobs, given them the opportunity to learn to read, and then with the monies raised provided eye exams and eyeglasses, only made the product more incredible. Take a look at this amazing little knitted lamb, all done in wool, that has been spun on old bicycle wheels, then colored with vegetable dyes, and signed by the artist that made them. Lamby Loo may be purchased at http://www.lbgreen.com/ItemDetail.aspx?id=63672.
